About

Georgia is a London based writer, working across the creative and charity sectors.

Specialising in dance and performance, she has contributed to Springback Magazine, dance art journal, The Upcoming and Seeing Dance, as well as commissioned texts for independent artists and organisations. Within the literary field, she has written for nb. Magazine and the Nota Bene book prize.

As part of the Springback 2022 cohort, Georgia was mentored by Sanjoy Roy (The Guardian) on dance criticism during Aerowaves' Spring Forward festival. She was later part of a panel for the 'Aerowaves at 50' celebration at the ICA London, and regularly contributes articles to both the live performance and Dance+ film sections of the magazine.

Prior to her writing career, Georgia graduated from Central School of Ballet with a BA in Professional Dance and Performance, before spending two years in Rome at Dance Arts Faculty. She has performed works by international choreographers on stage and TV, as well as works by local dance companies in community settings, including a series of contemporary works focused on instigating climate action.

Georgia has a great interest in applying her professional insight to community engagement and access. Her freelance work includes youth workshop facilitation in both movement and text, as well as extensive experience with inclusive performing arts charities, such as Angel Shed Theatre Company and Haringey Shed.

Currently, she works in communications and community engagement for a London-based volunteering organisation, and volunteers as a Creative Writing Mentor at Ministry of Stories, a children's charity in Hoxton. â€‹
